CONTESTS WILL RUN CONCURRENTLY
(Contestants bring 4 items to sell, even if competing in both contests)
MARYLAND STATE
• Contestant must be a member of the AAM and at least 18 years old.
• Contestant must be a MARYLAND RESIDENT.
• Contestant must not be a past champion.
• Entry is free with Full or 1 Day Conference Registration.
MID-ATLANTIC
• Entry is free with Full or 1 Day Conference registration.
• Contestant must not be a past champion.
• Contestant does not have to reside in the Mid-Atlantic region.
DETAILS
- Prizes: $1,000 First Place, $500 Second Place, $250 Third Place for each contest.
- Mail in entry cut off is January 10, 2025. Deadline to enter contest is Saturday, January 18 @ 12 Noon.
If contestant and/or guests would like dinner for 1/18/25, please register by December 31, 2024. Hotel requires this early deadline in order to provide enough food for meals. - All contestants will draw for position during roll call. Any contestants not present will be disqualified.
- The MC will introduce each contestant in both the preliminary and final round. Contestant’s failure to appear when his or her number is called will result in disqualification.
- Contestants will sell three items in the preliminary round. If a contestant makes it to the finals round, he/she will sell their fourth item at that time. Contestants need to bring 4 items to sell.
- Contestants will be judged by three pre-selected judges. The judging criteria will be based on: Opening, Poise, Bid Calling, Salesmanship, & Professionalism.
- All contestants will compete in the same round. Finalists will be announced after preliminary round.
- Champion(s) will be announced based upon highest total of combined score.
- Winner will be referred to as 2025 Maryland State Bid Calling Champion AND/OR 2025 Mid- Atlantic Bid Calling Champion.
- Professional business dress is recommended.
- By registering, contestant agrees to be photographed and/or videotaped and understands that the contest may be broadcasted via the internet and/or television. Contestant also agrees that the AAM may use your name, voice and/or image for informational, educational, advertising or promotional purposes relating to the AAM, the Competition and the Industry.
Contestants may bring guests to the competition. Optional $60 dinner for each guest can be purchased on the conference registration form.
Deadline to secure dinner is December 31, 2024.
